| When you say "If I am the Mayor of Taipei City, ...", this implies that you have an intention to be the Mayor, and most likely you are running an election campaign to become one. Otherwise, "If I were the mayor of Taipei City, ..." will be more proper.
Since you do not intend to be the Mayor, and this is hypothetically that you were the mayor, you can virtually say anything you like. You can say that, you wish to top up the Taipei 101 to be Taipei 202 building. Everything you say will be fine.... |
